Our Turquoise Agave Soap is our tribute to the Santa Rita Mine and is scented with an agave nectar fragrance. Santa Rita turquoise has been known to have a copper matrix and the Santa Rita Mine, now known as Chino Mine, is a copper mine.
Santa Rita del Cobre (Saint Rita of the Copper) was founded by Franscisco Manuel Elguea in 1803 and the town was relocated in 1957. The town of Santa Rita is now a ghost town at the foot of The Kneeling Nun 15 miles east of Silver City, New Mexico.
New Mexico adopted Turquoise as the state gemstone on March 23, 1967.
